"Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. Do not be too severe upon their errors, but reclaim them by enlightening them. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress, and Assemblies, Judges, and Governors, shall all become wolves." Thomas Jefferson

This is Important

I am certain that all of you have had an opportunity to view Keith Olbermann’s bravery and heroism by now.

I posted last night that we need to write him thank you notes. I now hear that the wingnuts are having a “hate Olbermann” drive. We need to come out in front of this.

Please send Keith a thank you: KOlbermann@msnbc.com

And please let his producers know: Countdown@msnbc.com

We need to slam them with thank you notes. We need to make certain that there are far more thank yous than f. yous.

If you have many email addresses, send letters from each. We need to slam MSNBC with support for Keith.

Unfortunately, people are overworked, under-informed and too scared to speak their minds. It is great that some in the media stand up and say what others dare not to think let alone say. The only way I see people standing up and saying "no more" is if their lives get too uncomfortable. (The current course of politicians knows well enough to not let things get too bad that quickly.) It seems that they are using a divide and conquer technique ALA "1984." If our government stays its course, slowly but surely our freedoms will disappear. We will all be monitored via microchip so that we can weed out the terrorists and child molesters (of course...to save us from ourselves too.)

If we are to change this course, we need to vote in a 50/50 split of politicians. This will keep them at bay as the partisan issues will never be supported and the real issues that a true majority believes in will be addressed.

Further, change will happen if we as a people take the time to learn kindness towards all people even those we disagree with. The type of kindness that allows one to listen to what is being said not just the words but the emotions behind the words. My heart tells me that even with the current division among beliefs, no one really wishes their opposition to perish. The fight really is about feeling loved and valued as an individual. The only way to accomplish this is exhibit kindness at all costs. As a society the way to achieve this is simple. Proper distinction between minding our own business and getting involved for the greater good.

Love Not War, I am afraid, that no matter how much we teach our children love and tolerance, far more children are being taught hate and fear.

I hope it is not too late. For this Country and for the world.

The damage done is deep and dire.

It will take a very long time to combat this and fix this damage.
